Trevor Schoorl has spent most of his life living and working in the dairy industry, both nationally and internationally. Trevor grew up on a dairy property in Queensland and after graduating from the University of Queensland, Gatton College in 1993 with an honours degree in Applied Science (Rural Technology), he moved to the USA to become part of the management team on a feedlot dairy supporting 3000 milking cows.

Two years later Trevor was recruited by World Wide Sires Australia to manage Queensland and New South Wales, where he continued to develop the dairy genetics market. He was then called back overseas where he was asked to design, develop and manage an 1500 cow feedlot dairy in the Caribbean.

For the next eight years Trevor spent his time working in the Dominican Republic, managing dairy and engineering construction crews, training and developing people to operate the farm and setting up systems and infrastructure to produce large quantities of high quality forages, especially silage. Trevor managed the feeding, livestock systems, administration and maintenance programs, along with managing nutrition and associated programs. Rations were based on high quality corn and sorghum silages. Naturally these experiences have provided vast and extensive experience in large dairy feedlot systems, and are invaluable for Trevor who has now returned to Australia to be part of the Quality Silage Systems team, where he is able to offer his wide ranging knowledge to new and existing clients.

Since joining QSS, Trevor has taken responsibility for a number of key projects and brought fresh ideas to the business. He has successfully overseen the introduction of our Lactobacillus Buchneri 40788 inoculant (Lalsil AS+ Extend 40788) to the Australasian market and aided the uptake of this technology at an astonishing rate.

Trevor has renewed his links with the Australian dairy industry and is now considered a key ally in their business decision making. Feedlotters and beef producers appreciate the intensity of management that Trevor brings from the feedlot dairy sector.
